Literary England

From only £129 3 days/2 nights

" Visit the home of the literary greats"

The Midlands have given the world some of English literature's most important figures, from the world's most famous playwright to the creator of the first ever dictionary. Stratford-upon-Avon was home to William Shakespeare, who is recognised by many to be the greatest writer in the English language. Our included guided tour takes you around many of the locations connected to the great bard, including his birthplace and his grave and The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Stratford itself is a charming town and you will have free time to laze in the picturesque parks alongside the River Avon and explore its historical streets. On the third day we follow the Tolkien Trail where J.R.R Tolkien grew up around Birmingham and went on to create the celebrated Lord of the Rings trilogy. We also take you to the birthplace of Samuel Johnson, author of the first ever dictionary. You will have time to look around the fascinating Samuel Johnson Birthplace
